This record completion day for the Alton office comes on the back of the property market experiencing a huge spike in demand and activity boosted by the combination of the extension of the Stamp Duty holiday and the Government backed new 5% loan scheme.

Rightmove recorded its busiest day on budget day – on the 3rd March with traffic exceeding £9 million for the first time. Eager buyers rushed to register with estate agents up 82% compared to the same time last year in 2020.

Rob Price, joint managing director at Homes in Alton commented: “This was a great start to March for us and reflects the strong trading Homes has experienced during Q1 despite the challenges of operating within a pandemic.

All our local offices have experienced a flurry of serious buyers with properties going under offer quickly. We’ve had more and more new applicants wanting to make a move locally and all our offices are enjoying a really busy period. Right now demand is outstripping supply.

New analysis suggests that Tuesday 23rd March is the date by which sellers should get their property on the market, if they want benefit from the £250,000 nil rate stamp duty band by the end of September. We anticipate that this will keep us very busy over the next few months.”
