During these uncertain times and the whole of January being under lockdown, we’ve seen that stock levels across the property rental market are not as high as previous years.
However, we are finding that a greater number of people have decided to rent for a year before moving ahead with buying another property. They are wanting to see how the property market evolves as the vaccine programme rolls out and Covid restrictions are eased. People are also mindful of the impact the pandemic is having on the UK economy and job security is an important consideration for some.
We are experiencing a demand for properties across the board – both houses and flats continue to attract potential tenants to view. We are receiving regular enquiries and arranging property viewings from young professionals to families looking to rent in our patch across North and East Hampshire and the borders between Surrey and West Sussex.
Our advice to landlords looking to let their property and secure a tenant quickly, continues to be:
- Follow agent advice to price correctly
- Present the property in excellent order throughout
- Ensure all safety certification is up-to-date
