The start of a new academic year and the beginning of autumn is traditionally a busy season for the property market. Many people decide that they want to move before Christmas and start the New Year in a new home.
Rightmove has already seen the number of new property listings increase by 14 per cent during the first fortnight in September compared to the second half of August. This indicates that the market will continue to remain strong and confidence is ongoing among sellers about property prices and knowing that committed buyers are out there waiting to pounce.
Buyers are facing fierce competition now. We certainly have experienced a record number of people pursuing every sales instruction. Across the UK, the data shows that the number of buyers wanting a property has doubled since 2019, before the pandemic started.
