About Residential Sales - Alton
The Alton Office is where it all began for Homes and from here, nearly 10 years ago, the team have gone on to become the town’s leading agent, handling and selling more properties than any other agent in the area.
So what’s driven our success in such a relatively short time? Joint Managing Director, Rob Price says “It’s a combination of our energy, responsiveness and just having an ethos of delivering great results for every one of our customers – not forgetting our inherent familiarity with the local property market. We’re open longer hours than most agents and the whole team are all local people living within the patch, which means we can provide sound advice from a real position of knowledge.”
Our office in Alton’s High Street is in an iconic and attractive building right in the centre of the town and which we lovingly restored to its former glory in 2018. Check out your property’s sale or rental value with Rob Price or Justin Robinson, Alton’s Branch Manager, or just have a chat with the team about any aspect of the local market. Also based in Alton is Homes’ Head of Sales Progression, Liana Marlow who has been with the company for over 8 years and provides invaluable support to clients from the moment a sale is agreed right through to completion.
Why not call in and see what the team can do for you – nothing will be too much trouble!
Our Area
Alton is a warm and welcoming vibrant north Hampshire town which truly has a community spirit at its heart. Situated at the source of the River Wey and enjoying a rural backdrop at the gateway to the South Downs National Park, the area around Alton is known by many as “Jane Austen Country” with its close ties to its charming neighbouring parish of Chawton – home to Jane Austen’s House Museum and Chawton House.
The largest settlement in East Hampshire, the town also has its own heritage attraction – the Mid Hants Railway Watercress Line – as well as being well known for the civil war Battle of Alton in 1643, the murder of Fanny Adams in 1867 and also home to the Allen Gallery and Curtis Museum. Staying within the town, visitors will find a variety of shops from national chain stores to local independent retailers.
When it comes to dining out and socialising, Alton offers a wide choice of cafes, restaurants, bars and quintessentially English pubs to choose from, all located within easy walking distance of the town centre. With plenty to see and do in and around Alton, the town serves as a convenient base to explore the local area. With so many villages within a few miles of Alton, visitors can take in the breathtaking views and the rich heritage of the region, and also sample the diverse range of locally produced food and drink – which can also be experienced at the Hampshire Farmers’ Market every second Saturday of the month in the High Street.

In her spare time Lisa Chairs a local village tennis club and enjoys playing local league tennis and relaxing with her three teenage daughters.
Liana Marlow
Liana is known to all of us across our four offices as ‘the person who misses nothing and gets things done’. She has been with Homes since 2012 managing the Alton office and being instrumental in setting up and growing our invaluable Sales Progression team.

Abbie Hutton
Having been with Homes as a weekend viewings assistant, Abbie decided to take on the challenge of a full time role in early 2022. Abbie brings valuable customer service experience to the role from her background in pharmaceutical sales. Having lived locally for her entire life, Abbie’s local knowledge is second to none and there is no better person to advise clients on the area. Abbie is a bit of a petrol-head in her spare time, when not with friends and family you will find her tinkering with and modifying her own project car!
Jemima Adams
Jemima joined the Homes team in 2022 as a viewing assistant in our busy Alton branch. Having bought and sold houses through Homes, Jemima is enjoying experiencing the role from the other side. With a background in recruitment, Jemima thrives on a busy environment and enjoys being out meeting new people. Born in Farnham, she moved to Alton 21 years ago, and now lives locally with her husband, two young boys and miniature dachshund, Hugo. As a mum of boys you will often find Jemima cheering at the sidelines of the football pitch, as both boys are members of Alton FC.

Living in Four Marks with her husband and two daughters, she is a very active member and advocate for the local community. About Residential Sales - Grayshott
The Grayshott office is the latest addition to our branch network and, since it opened in March 2017, it’s gone from a standing start to being the local agent of choice. Before we moved in, it was a neglected and empty Victorian ex-pharmacy building and after a 12 week extensive make-over project, it’s now fully restored and looking resplendent in the heart of the village. In addition to property sales in the Grayshott area, this office also looks after the residential sales for our Liphook branch, which now solely acts as Homes’ Regional Lettings hub. Spearheading the team in Grayshott is Regional Manager, Ben Moore who has over 16 year’s estate agency experience, 8 of which have been with Homes Estate Agents. Driven by a desire to provide the very best customer expereince the whole team is focussed on making Homes Grayshott & Liphook the ‘go to’ agent for the area.
Ben is supported in the office by Sales Manager, Tom Cann and Senior Client Advisor, Sally Sanders (our longest serving Homes team member), plus Client Advisor, Leo Sergiou. Our team is also supported, on a part-time basis, by Niki Fisher and Jenni Seeliger, both local ladies. Also on hand in Grayshott are Ellie Kavanagh and Hannah Ross, our dedicated Sales Progressors, whose role is critical in keeping on top of all sales transactions to ensure they progress, as smoothly as possible, through to completion.
Grayshott is a fabulously well-kept secret, tucked just off the A3, with so many very special places to visit within walking distance, which makes it a very desirable place to call home.
So call into our ‘home’ and meet the team here – you won’t be disappointed!
Our Area
Small in size maybe, but Grayshott is big in character and soul! The area is one of the most relaxing places to live, surrounded by National Trust sites of outstanding natural beauty including Waggoners Wells, Ludshott Common, The Devil’s Punchbowl, Gibbet Hill and the Hindhead Commons with amazing views over the Surrey Hills. Several of these areas have been designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest or Special Protection Areas.
The village boasts a wide variety of shops, restaurants, a great local pub – the “Fox and Pelican“, the local farm shop and restaurant at “Applegarth” is a must for regular visits and the world famous “Grayshott Pottery” is perfect for stunning ceramics and a great day out. Amazingly, all of these attractions are within easy walking distance of each other!
Turning briefly to its history, the earliest reference to Grayshott is in Winchester Bishopric records as Gravesetta (1185) and Graveschete (1200). In 1533 it was called Graveshotte, and the named changed to its current spelling probably in the 18th century. The shott suffix in local names refers to springs flowing from the sandstone rock strata.
As a measure of its popularity, beauty and general amenities, Grayshott has won numerous awards over the years. Since the Millennium alone, it has been crowned Hampshire Village of the Year three times, Best Village for Business in the Community in Southern England twice and the Champion of Champions of Hampshire Communities. You would not be wrong in saying that it certainly punches above its weight!

About Residential Sales - Liphook
In only 4 years, the Homes’ Liphook office is now firmly established as the most progressive agent in the area. Residential sales from here are handled by the area sales team, based in Grayshott, who work between the two offices on a daily basis. Under Regional Manager, Ben Moore, the sales team offers the full range of residential sales services and you can be assured that there’s little they don’t know about the area. Our Area
The opening of the Hindhead tunnel in 2011 was a game-changer for this heavily wooded, eastern pocket of Hampshire, making a significant difference to travelling times on the London to Portsmouth A3. The area has always been regarded as a well-kept secret … something which the locals have been quite keen to maintain! However, many home hunters form outside the patch, are increasingly twigging that they can swap a slightly longer commute, by road or rail, for substantially more house, plus they get all the benefits of the outstanding surrounding countryside.
Although its origins go back to the 13th Century, the first named records appeared some 300 years later when Sir Edmund Pakynham inherited a tenement and land in ‘Lepoke’ in 1527 and John Hooke bought the manor of ‘Chiltle’ in ‘Lippuck’ in 1591.
Liphook really developed during the 18th century as a coach stop between Portsmouth and London, although the wooded location made coach services a target for highwaymen. Later the surrounding landscape provided inspiration for the author Flora Thompson, who lived in Liphook from 1916-28 as her husband was the postmaster here. She went on to write her trilogy Lark Rise to Candleford, evoking a pastoral idyll.
The village of Liphook is a really well cared for, adorned by floral displays, planned and planted by ‘Liphook in Bloom’ volunteers. Local amenities include a bakery, ironmongers, doctors’ surgery and some highly rated junior, pre-prep and state secondary schools. For downtime, there are some great pubs, two golf courses and two health club spas. To add more surprises to what’s on offer locally, it even has its own working steam museum at Hollycombe with a steam railway and Edwardian fairground.

The office is located in a prominent position in College Street, visible as you come round the one way system towards the High Street. There’s convenient public parking right opposite the office, next to the Red Lion pub and also behind us in the main Central car park. Petersfield’s vibrant market town atmosphere and location on the edge of the South Downs, makes it one of the most popular places to live in the region.
Pop in and talk to the team – they’re all from the local area and waiting to help you!
Our Area
Petersfield is a genuine traditional market town that has kept its character and individuality. There’s an abundance of cafes, inns and restaurants including a number listed in the Good Food Guide and this makes the area the perfect place for those who want to live within striking distance of a social hub where you can enjoy a good cup of coffee, delicious eats and a decent pint. The shopping experience is also great, with a monthly farmers’ market and twice weekly general markets held in The Square.
Families looking for recreation are well catered for with a great leisure centre, a couple of local golf clubs, a rugby club, a football club and its very own retro open-air swimming pool in a garden setting. Last, but not least, is Petersfield Heath – just a short stroll from the town – with 69 acres of parkland, a boating lake, cricket club, play area and a great lakeside café.
Cyclists, riders and walkers can make the most of Petersfield’s exceptional rural setting in the South Downs National Park with chalk downland slopes rising beyond the townscape. Queen Elizabeth Country Park lies to the south with some 20 miles of waymarked trails. The town is certainly not known for its wild nightlife, but it does have a much-praised youth theatre, a number of Festivals and a great local museum.
Petersfield is really well connected with frequent direct trains to Guildford and Portsmouth plus London Waterloo. The main A3 is only one mile from the town, providing easy access to the south coast in one direction and London in the other. All in all, a great town, lovely surrounding countryside and villages, plenty to do, well connected and retaining a strong sense of community.

Homes have a dedicated Land & New Homes office, serving regional and local property developers who want a comprehensive advisory, sales and support service. Across the Homes network we have extensive experience and success in managing new development sales, both on and off plan.
Headed up by Peppe De Fazio, with over 25 years’ experience in this area and supported by Rob Price, Joint Managing Director, this dedicated service from Homes Estate Agents is a really valuable asset for developers. Also dedicated to the team is Tahmid Miah, a qualified architectural specialist who works behind the scenes, scoping out the development viability of many different sites. This combined expertise ensures that all enquiries, whether large or small, can be handled immediately with in-depth local knowledge and a first class advisory experience. Thereafter, our local Sales and Lettings office network, provides the perfect solution to handling off-site and on-site sales requirements.
Development Consultancy Services:
We offer ‘on the ground’ insight and advice that is regularly converted into profitable results for our developer clients. This includes site viability, design advice, related planning issues, purchase & sale options, optimising housing mix and, importantly, the value which can be derived from all development plots.
New Home Sales:
We’ve made a name for ourselves in the New Homes market by understanding the needs of house builders and land owners and offering the specialist services that support site optimisation. We will provide all the necessary elements for the successful launch of a development and the experience and local resources through 4 offices to fully support the project for its duration.
Our team will be with you right through to the final successful sale. Having worked with many of the UK’s leading house builders we understand our aim is a simple one – to secure the best value for our clients in the shortest possible time.
Call the Land & New Homes team and see how they could help you unlock the potential of your development.

About Group Central Support
Whilst all our Residential Sales and Lettings offices are pretty much self-sufficient on a day-to-day basis, the Homes Central Support team provides additional assistance in areas such as central administration, sales progression, marketing resources and strategic direction.
Support from this small, but hugely experienced team, allows the rest of the business to optimise the time they are able to spend in direct dealings with all our customers. This, is turn, ensures we are able to deliver the highest levels of personal service and the positive results, for which we are well-known.
All three founding Homes’ directors are part of this support resource – that’s Charlie and the two Rob’s – in addition to which we have Liana in her role as Operations Director and her regionally based sales progression team, plus Jane who oversees all administration matters.

Heading up our Central Administration function, Jane is one of our longest serving team members. Originally from Wales, Jane has lived in Alton for over 25 years and is inherently familiar with all our offices. Ensuring our operational efficiency from ‘behind the scenes’, there’s little that she doesn’t get involved in and we all benefit greatly from her organisational skills, coupled with her calm and focussed disposition. If something needs to happen at the centre, Jane will sort it!
Liana Marlow
Liana is known to all of us across our four offices as ‘the person who misses nothing and gets things done’. She has been with Homes since 2012 managing the Alton office and being instrumental in setting up and growing our invaluable Sales Progression team.
Liana’s new role will report in directly to the Managing Directors. She will be responsible for the day to day overseeing of the business operation from staff recruitment and appraisals to monitoring and managing internal processes and systems, and coordinating the company’s marketing activity.
Tom Cann
Tom is our Sales Manager in Grayshott and Liphook. Having previously worked across all our offices, he is an asset to the company with a strong sales record, whilst maintaining customer service at the heart of everything he does. His passion for the property industry and eye for an opportunity enables him to stand out when helping buyers and sellers come together.
