Welcoming in 2025

Over the Christmas break we sat down with Joint Managing Director, Rob Price. We talked through how the year went and what we look towards in 2025. Here’s a message from Rob.

On behalf of myself and the team at Homes, we hope you have all had a wonderful break over the festive period and are looking forward to new beginnings and fresh opportunities in 2025.

Looking back, 2024 has been an interesting year with ups and downs affecting the housing market. We’ve had a general election in May, a change of government in July, an autumn budget, interest rate changes, just to name a few.

Despite all the above, we end the year with a real sense of positivity for the local market going into 2025.

2024 has been a record-breaking year for Homes within multiple departments. The Lettings team have achieved their strongest year since opening the department in 2012, with a further 8% growth on turnover versus 2023. Another notable highlight includes Homes remaining as strong market leaders in Alton, Petersfield and Liphook with over 400 sales agreed across these offices.

With the above in mind, one stat that has stood out to us in the last quarter of 2024, is that over 40% of our sales have come as a direct phone call to a local seller who had previously registered on our database to search for their new home. At the time of our call, these clients were not on the market, but we intuitively acted to list and sell their home and secure their onward purchase. Two of the sales agreed in November were direct house swaps, which in this day and age is unusual, but comes as a direct result of fully understanding our client’s needs.

If you’re considering a move in 2025, please ensure we have your up-to-date details and requirements and if you’re selling, we would welcome the opportunity to visit your property to offer an accurate valuation. We feel there’s a huge responsibility as local agents to give accurate pricing advice to our sellers from the get-go. We strive to keep close communication with sellers and buyers throughout the whole process, especially within this everchanging market.

Finally, We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our team for their hard work to achieve such strong results year after year. This doesn’t come by chance, it comes with hard work, thinking outside the box and really taking the time to understand our clients’ motivations and goals. Our team endeavour to make it a positive experience for all involved, with minimal stress.

We look forward to the year ahead with and in the meantime, take the opportunity to wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2025.

Best wishes,

Rob
